My dream since I was young was to visit Egypt, in particular the city of Cairo! In the summer of 2015 I not only got a chance to make my first visit there but I also got the opportunity to volunteer at summer camp! It gave me the chance to see the side of Cairo often so hidden from public view and be part of the amazing work of the summer camp. I loved it that much that 2 months after my first visit I went back and got to visit a local school and join in with a singing activity. Despite their circumstances the people I have got to meet have been friendly, welcoming and inspiring and I have been lucky enough to make some great friends. I feel very grateful for the opportunity to be part of their lives and the work of Welcome St George’s.
